Showerhead Upgrades

Eligibility

To be eligible to upgrade your water-saving shower heads and get a discount, you must:

• be a Victorian household or business

• replace an inefficient showerhead with a flow rate above 9 litres per minute, or below 3 stars.

Please note:

• Up to 3 inefficient showerheads can be replaced per household.

• Your existing shower head must be removed from the property and disposed of by the VEU accredited provider.

Living in a rental property?

If you’re living in a private rental property, you are eligible to receive a discount on shower heads. We recommend that landlords and tenants work together when doing any upgrades to a rental property.

Find your shower head's flow rate

To determine your showerhead’s flow rate, measure your showerhead’s water usage:

• place a measuring bucket under the showerhead

• turn on the tap(s) completely to get the maximum flow for 15 seconds

• then multiply the collected amount by 4 to get the litres per minute.

• If it’s over 9 litres, you’re eligible.
